Maxxess integrates with A&R Engineering Lamp Room Management System (CMMS)

Maxxess has seamlessly integrated with A&R Engineering’s Lamp Room Management System (CMMS). It’s basically a plug-in to the existing Maxxess Equipment Management Module and extends the functionality to cater for the specific testing of a range of hardware equipment typically used within the Mining Industry.

The CMMS ensures that personnel are physically carrying equipment before entering the Underground Environment and where personnel equipment can be tested and confirmed as functional, this is also done before the equipment is used in the Underground Workplace. The CMMS also monitors that the equipment is safely returned in the Lamp Room and where needed, replaced back in Charging Racks. The CMMS plug-in has huge benefits to Health, Safety and Productivity of personnel in the Underground Environment, by ensuring all required equipment is taken to the workplace and that the equipment is functional. This can include items such as Lamps, Locomotive Lamps, Gas Detection devices, Rescue Packs, Radios, First Aid Packs, Locomotive Keys, Blasting Keys, Radios and Harnesses. By also ensuring that this Equipment is returned to the Lamp Room after each shift also safeguards the Capital Investment of Equipment held in the Lamp Room.

Through a bank of Access Control turnstiles restricting access into the Lamp Room, Maxxess enables access for only those who are expected to be at work, Medical and Heat Tolerance Certifications are valid, and any Licences required to operate Underground machinery such as Locomotives are also up to date. We also alert the CMMS that a person has arrived in the Lamp Room.

Maxxess manages the provision of relevant Human Resource Information to CMMS whilst CMMS manages the allocation and deallocation of equipment in the Lamp Room which is then fed back to the Maxxess System for use in critical reporting processes such as ‘Shaft Clearance’.

Through a further bank of Access Control turnstiles restricting access to the Underground, Maxxess ensures, with the real-time assistance of CMMS, that all personnel are carrying the required equipment and that the equipment is working.
The same Lamp Room Entrance Access Control turnstiles, used now to exit the Lamp Room, CMMS advises Maxxess whether all equipment for a person has been returned and that it is acceptable to allow the person to leave the Lamp Room.
